Residence at Buttermilk

An 8,600 sf residence designed for an active family as their “getaway” home.

The home is sited to take advantage of mountain views while being partially sunk making for a minimal ecological impact. The home uses “best in class” strategies to minimize energy consumption with geo-thermal and solar harvesting for both cooling and heating. Locally sourced materials were used where possible with a footprint that minimized land disturbance or altering natural drainage.
